Educational Committee Report for 2009 Colorado Horse Council Annual Meeting PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 22 December 2009

The educational programs at the 2009 Rocky Mountain Horse Expo’s continue to be well received. Improvements to the program include: a continued effort to limit and focus the schedule of speakers and demonstrations, a more informal and intimate speaker venue (especially at the regional Expos), and the addition of new subject areas to each event. All of the previously mentioned changes were successful and will continue in the future.

Overall the educational programs at the Rocky Mountain Horse Expo in Denver have experienced success and plans are already in motion for an even better program in 2010. Additionally, the educational program at the regional Expo in Ignacio was successful while the program in Eagle unfortunately struggled.

We were proud to launch the new electronic Colorado Horse Council newsletter in 2009. The newsletter is made possible thanks to the Mountain Plains Farm Credit Services. The newsletter provides updates, important information and Colorado horse industry news to our membership. The newsletter is being produced by the Colorado Horse Council and an internship program with Colorado State University.

Colorado State University is proud to participate in the development of educational programs for the Colorado Horse Council and looks forward to continuing our working relationship with the Board and the Membership.

Respectfully submitted on this 1st day of December, 2009:

David J. Denniston, Ph.D.
Education Committee
