Dear County Agent:

Colorado Horse Council is conducting a membership drive and would like to partner with all the 4-H/Youth clubs in the state. We are offering a $5 rebate to those participating clubs for each Colorado Horse Council member they enlist.

Foremost, we are promoting the Rocky Mountain Horse Expo but there are a great many more benefits to joining Colorado Horse Council that are highlighted on the enclosed yellow sheet. (See Below) Please review this sheet to see just how advantageous membership can be.

In the lower left-hand corner of each membership form there is a box in which the club's name can be noted. We then ask that completed membership forms, checks and/or credit card numbers be submitted to our office by the 15th of each month. We will return the $5 per membership rebate to club by the 30th of the same month.

This is an excellent money making opportunity for the 4-H/Youth clubs and would appreciate your assistance in making this partnership possible. Jonathan Vrabec has enclosed his endorsement of the project and we look forward to mutually beneficial campaign.

Thanks for your help. For detailed instructions and membership forms, contact the Colorado Horse Council at 303-292-4981 or e-mail Brian Kitchen at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Yours truly,

Brian Kitchen
Executive Director

Instructions and/or Helpful Hints for Completing the Membership Form:

  1. All members will be listed in the Directory, unless otherwise instructed, under the type of membership that is purchased. If the business name is to be listed then a Corporate Membership must be selected. The Organization membership is usually reserved for non-profits or similar groups. Organizations or Ranches should select the corresponding type of membership if they want their names published. Only Corporate Memberships will include the listing of Products and Services.
  2. Only the Individual and Family Memberships are eligible for coverage under the $1 Million Equine Excess Personal Liability Insurance. For the Family Membership, be sure to supply the residence spouse's name. Attached is an overview of the coverage and a phone number from which more detailed information can be obtained.
  3. "Referring Club/Organization" refers to organizations other than the 4-H/Youth Groups. For example, the applicant is a member of another horse group and they have encouraged the membership in COHOCO. Rocky Mountain Quarter Horse Association or Jefferson County Horse Council would be considered referring clubs or organizations.

Instructions for Submitting Membership Applications For Payment:

  1. Make sure the 4-H/Youth Group box in the lower left hand corner is completed.
  2. Attach checks to corresponding applications.
  3. Submit all applications that are completed at one time by the 10th of each month. We suggest that the leaders review all applications and payments and then submit everything together. Please do not submit the applications individually unless there is only one application and payment to be submitted.
  4. The name and address of the 4-H/Youth group must also be included as well as a contact name and phone number, in case there are questions.
  5. We will process the applications and return $5 per membership to the submitting 4-H/Youth groups by the 30th of each month.
