Perfecting the Ranch Horse” with Mike Major at the Rocky Mountain Horse Expos in Denver and Vail Valley

AQHA Ranch Horse Versatility Honor Roll leader Mike Major will share a lifetime of knowledge and experience with audiences at the 2007 Rocky Mountain Horse Expos in Denver and Vail Valley.

Perfecting the Ranch HorseIn his presentation, “Perfecting the Ranch Horse,” Major will explain the techniques he’s mastered on the way to becoming the National Western Ranch Versatility Champion twice (2005 & 2006). According to Major, success in the Versatility event is all about “learning how to connect and gain full body control over your horse on stops, spins, and maneuvers of the shoulders and hips.” He’ll show how it’s done at the Horse Expo.

Mike has spent all his life breaking and training horses on ranches in New Mexico and Colorado.  He and his wife, Holly, live on their ranch in Fowler, CO where they run yearling heifers and 100-plus head of horses.  They also own and operate a cow-calf ranch in Belen, NM.

Mike is a versatile competitor himself. He successfully competed in rodeos throughout the 1970s and ‘80s, then moved on to cutting and working cow horse (winning 2006 Bayer Select World Champion) as well as Ranch Horse Versatility. Mike has spent a lifetime learning from and connecting with horses, and he hopes to share some of his experience with fellow horsemen.

The Rocky Mountain Horse Expo is proud to welcome Mike Major to the 2007 line up of top presenters in Denver (March 9-11) and Vail Valley (June 1-3). For more information, visit www.RockyMountainHorseExpo.com or call (303)292-4981.
