With more than 40 years of experience horsecamping, Bonnie Davis is well qualified to address the environmental and safety aspects of horse enjoyment in the great outdoors. She will cover the full scope the subject, from trailer selection, preparing the horse, and travel legalities, to campsite considerations, feeding and watering, camping first aid, and much more. She is a consultant to the US Forest Service and the National Park Service, leads workshops around the country that promote “informed, educated and equipped” horseback use of the back country, advocates for trail access and designs horsecamps.

Jim Chaney brings to Conference presentations his longtime experience as a horseman and backcountry trail rider, along with a keen understanding of the politics of trail access for livestock users. Wendy Jo Haskins works with various user groups to develop Travel Management Plans for the US Forest Service, and plans to address the issues of shared trail access as they pertain to horseowners. Gary Thorson oversees the strategic planning, marketing, external affairs, business development, information technology, reservations system and volunteer program for Colorado State Parks.

These speakers will each share their insights and valuable knowledge in individual presentations at the Conference, as well as appear together in a round table panel discussion.
