Glenwood Springs’ own Cowboy Attitude band brings just the right note—or notes—to close the first full day of events at the Vail/Eagle Valley Rocky Mountain Horse Expo. The concert—on Friday, June 1st from 8-9 p.m.—features the band’s signature mix of “new country,” blues and even a little rock ‘n roll, and is included in that day’s admission to the Horse Expo at Eagle’s new River Center.
Cowboy Attitude has been performing for ten years. The group is a popular sound at rodeos, festivals, fairs, and special events throughout the Western Slope as well as in Denver, Wyoming, and New Mexico. According to the band’s keyboardist, Marty Martinez, they’ve opened for such artists as Patty Loveless, Neal McCoy, and 38 Special, and also work as studio musicians. Dave Blankenship is lead guitar, Lonnie Sandoval plays drums and guitar, Randy Reems does bass. They all do vocals, with Lonnie taking the lead.
