Cowboy Trails: Cowboy Trails is in its second year at the Rocky Mountain Horse Expo. Come join the fun on Saturday, March 9th at 2pm at the National Western's Stadium arena: "Cowboy Trails", a gathering of the cowboy way of live. Come experience how a cowboy lives and the life they love; take part in some of the Old West nostalgia. Do some rope'n, ride a bucking bronco, sing some songs with our cowboy singer and visit with the "cookie" Patty Ruwoldt, author of Open Range Cook'n for a sample of traditional cowboy fare. Watch the famous mounted shooters demonstrate a Wild West shoot out. Don't forget about the dancing, horses and cowboy'n. This family, fun-filled, hands-on event will take you back to a time where the simple things brought everyone together in friendship and camaraderie. Mane Event: Are you looking for true entertainment? "The Mane Event" puts the spotlight on horses doing exactly that: reining, racing, piaffes and playing. Reining freestyle champions will slide, spin and stop, and team penners will move cows with style and finesse. Vaulters will leap, dressage champions will dance, and draft horses will be the tall of it, while Miniature Horses will be the small of it all! The Mane Event has got it all. Ardent for Adalusians or avid for Arabians? A fan of Fjords? The Mane Event includes an alphabet of breeds, disciplines and talents, showcasing horses at the top of their form. Over 90 horses will perform under the lights in the Event Center at the National Western Stock Show Complex. "This is a great display of horsemanship, entertainment and excitement ever presented at the Expo", says Bill Scebbi, Expo Manager and Executive Director. "Each act exemplifies the joy and beauty derived from witnessing human and horse coming together in this fun filled, 2 hours of pure entertainment.” The Rocky Mountain Mane Event is for everyone: families with children, horse lovers, and folks looking for a high-value evening, with music and fun included.

Stick Horse Rodeo: Enjoy the Rodeo like never before. The Stick Horse Rodeo offers a new perspective and appreciation meant for children of all ages. Children get the opportunity to interact and participate in races, obstacles, and competitions. This fun family event invites you Friday- Sunday from 10am- 2:30pm. How to Draw Animals classes by Sherry Baker: These fun, twenty-minute drawing tutorials are specially geared toward children, and will feature step-by-step “How to” instructions for drawing a wide variety of animals. Every participant will be entered into a door-prize contest and re-ceive a take-home coloring sheet. They will also have the opportunity to color their own drawings! Takes place every day of the Expo at 10am and 1pm. Daily Session will be different.
Rocky Mountain Stock Dog Association: This team event showcases the man, horse, and dog relationship as they heard cattle and maneuver them through and around the arena. This event takes place on Saturday, March 9th at 4:30pm in the Event Center Arena, and is free to the general public, with purchase of Expo General Admission. One Horse, One Rider, One Dog! Come be part of the fun!
Polo Sporting Event: Polo at the Rocky Mountain Horse Expo? Yes, we are pleased to offer this unique sporting event, to one of our many attractions. Colorado State University will compete. Polocrosse Sporting Event: So what is Polocrosse? Polocrosse is a team sport that is played all over the world. It is a combination of polo and lacrosse. It is played outside, on a field (the pitch), on horseback. Each rider uses a cane stick to which is attached a racquet head with a loose, thread net, in which the ball is carried. The ball is made of sponge rubber and is approximately four inches across. The objective is to score goals by throwing the ball between the opposing team's goal posts. Come watch the competition Sunday, March 10th, 2pm in the Event Center Arena.
4H Horse Show: The Rocky Mountain Horse Expo proud to be the host site for the Colorado State University invitational 4-H Horse Show Challenge. Equine enthusiasts ages 8-18 will compete in four different types of disciplines: Showmanship, English Equitation, Western Horsemanship and Western Trail. Competitors will be competing within their individual age groups for prizes. This show allows the top Exhibitors 4-H has to offer across all age groups compete head to head.
Art in the Park: The love of art and horses is combined into one great exhibit at the Rocky Mountain Horse Expo. Enjoy artists from around the region showcasing their best art. From paintings to pencil, photography to mixed media, sculpture to fiber art this exhibit has it all! Visitors can meet the artists and have the opportunity to learn more about their work at the "Artists Opening Reception." March 8, 2013, 4:30pm at the "Art in the Park". People of all ages are welcome.
