Join us for an exciting and fun day at the Equine Heritage Foundation Faire!
The event will feature a variety of activities suitable for the whole family.

Scheduling and Requirements

    • Registration Opens at 7:45 AM
    • Activities and Start Times (Subject to Change)
    • The Heritage Ride
      • The Lake Ride Ride ( About 2.5 Hours)  8:30 AM
      • The Prairie Ride (About 1.5 Hours)  9:30 AM
      • Trails will be open all day for you to continue to ride.
    • Trade Show Setup  9:00 AM
    • Driving and Draft Horse Demonstration Setup 10:00 AM
    • Colorado Obstacle Challenge Serie Play Day  12:00 PM to 4:00 PM
    • Cowboy Buffet, Entertainment and Silent Auction 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM
    • Saying “Happy Trails”  4:00PM

Park Requirements and maps

  • Must have Colorado State Entrance Pass (Can purchase onsite, $10). (Click Here).
  • Leave no trash behind, please haul out your trash and droppings in your area

Refund Policy

  • There are no refunds. This event will go on rain or shine. if you are unable to attend your registration amount can be used as a tax deductible donation to the Equine Heritage Foundation.

  • Heritage Ride: Participate in a family fun ride that celebrates the rich heritage of horses. It’s a great opportunity to bond with your equine companions and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Try the long ride around the lake (About 2.5 hours) or take a later start and do the Prairie Trails ( About 1.5 hours).
  • Poker Ride around Barr Lake and the Prairie Trail: Test your luck and skills in the poker ride around Bar Lake or Prairie Trail. It’s a fun way to explore the area while collecting poker cards at different stations. The best poker hand at the end wins!
  • Obstacle Course Challenge Play Day: Have a blast navigating through an obstacle course with your horse. This activity will highlight your teamwork and horsemanship abilities. Clinicians will be available to provide you with ideas on how to master each obstacle. This event is hosted by the Colorado Obstacle Challenge Series
  • Draft Horse Presentation: Learn about the impressive strength and history of draft horses in a captivating presentation.
  • Carriage Presentation: Witness the elegance and charm of carriage horses as they highlight their skills.
  • Old-Time Barbecue: Enjoy a delicious old-time barbecue with friends and fellow equine enthusiasts. It’s a perfect opportunity to relax and share stories.
  • Silent Auction: Bid on exciting items in the silent auction and support the Equine Heritage Foundation’s mission.
  • Equine Heritage Foundation Faire Trade Show: Visit the Faire Trade show…. Vendors are now being invited!
The event will take place at Barr Lake State Park in Brighton, Colorado, which is approximately 27 miles northeast of Denver. The park offers excellent horseback riding opportunities both around the lake and throughout the park.

By participating in this event, you’ll be supporting the Equine Heritage Foundation’s noble goals, which include preserving and promoting the heritage of horses, protecting their legacy, and nurturing future generations of equestrians. The foundation also aims to improve equine welfare and provide educational resources to the equine community.
