A Colorado Horse Council individual or household membership is one of the strongest investments you can make for your horse and for the future of our industry. The Colorado Horse Council is a member-based, non-profit organization. The vital interests of Colorado’s horsemen are at the heart of the Colorado Horse Council mission, which is to unite Colorado’s horse owners and horse industry into a powerful cohesive voice to protect the common equine interest through legislation and education. The Equine Excess Insurance is no longer included with your membership; it must be purchased separately after you renew. Your membership renewal subscription receipt reflects your current membership status and includes a download link with the information needed to purchase your insurance. 

Also new for 2026, there is a 75% discount for membership that will apply automatically at checkout.

Both membership types qualify for Personal Excess Liability Insurance and offer voting privileges at our Annual Meeting. All memberships provide ground admission tickets to our annual Rocky Mountain Horse Expo, as well as providing the peace of mind knowing we are looking out and fighting for your best interests in the equine industry.

Membership Type-Specific Benefits

Individual Insured
  • Qualify for up to $1 million Equine Excess Personal Liability Insurance. Coverage is for one individual.
  • 1 vote is allotted in the Colorado Horse Council.
Family Insured
  • Qualify for up to $1 million Equine Excess Personal Liability Insurance.* Coverage is for up to 2 adult spouses and their unemancipated children under 18 years of age still living with them.
  • 1 vote allotted in the Colorado Horse Council.

*Equine Excess Personal Liability Insurance coverage covers a calendar year from January 1st to December 31st regardless of date/time during that year the CHC Individual or Family Membership was purchased. The CHC membership dues cover a 12-month period starting the date you pay your membership dues.
